Having always had a passion for learning, I have called myself a lifelong learner for many years. However, until reading the 7 1/2 Habits of Successful Lifelong Learners, I had never considered writing a learning contract with myself. I have for many years used books, technology, continuing education and college courses, mentors, and friends to increase my knowledge base and continue to grow and learn.
Considering the value of play was an eye-opener for me; that will be the hardest habit to develop. I have always heard all work and no play...but I don't take time to play and will have to work to develop this new habit. I believe I will make a learning contract with myself to help achieve this new goal.
